Deviants Brand the City

SOCIALDEVIANT Presents: RAK Week 2021 and DEVIANTs Brand the City

As the world's kindest company, this year we set out to make this Random Acts of Kindness week (or RAK week) the best one yet! Random Acts of Kindness week is a SOCIALDEVIANT tradition, and an initiative to make kindness a bigger part of our day to day lives. Whether it's in our schools, workplaces; the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is dedicated to this mission, and so are we. We decided to take to our social channels and spread the kindness by spreading awareness of the cause, highlighting our Pro-bono Deviants Brand the City Initiative, inviting our audience to our Deviant Talks series, and so much more!

On Monday, we posted an Instagram Story encouraging our followers to shout-out their friends/co-workers with kind messages. This was accompanied by an Instagram feed post that spread much-needed awareness for this awesome week.

In addition, we were lucky enough to have Johnnie Lovett and Eric Seals join our DEVIANT talks series where they discussed multicultural advertising and catching diverse stories on film. If you missed out, we have recap videos to share the knowledge.

Tuesday was also the kick-off of our DEVIANTs Brand the City initiative where we announced our phenomenal winners over the course of the rest of the week. With DEVIANTs Brand the City, we’re offering pro bono creative services to three Black and Brown-owned businesses and nonprofits. We look forward to working with Healthy Hood Chi, Urban Prep Academies, and The Will Group in the very near future.

As this wonderful week happened to coincide with Black History Month, SOCIALDEVIANT gifted every team member $100 to support a Black or Brown-owned restaurant. The Deviant Team was delighted to share some of their favorites from around the Chicago area including Mcbride Sisters, Semicolon, Soule, Demera. Random Acts of Kindness week is a staple in the culture of SOCIALDEVIANT as we continue our mission to ignite kindness in our community.

This year’s RAK week was a special one because we got to spread kindness all throughout the Chicago community. We took the week to highlight, support, and connect with small businesses, non-profit organizations, and creatives. Being kind is in our DNA and we couldn’t be more proud to spread awareness about The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
